DRUG ADDICTION AND ABUSE IN PAKISTAN.



Dear All,

The use of drug growing rapidly in Pakistan especially in students.
10% out of every 100% students is a drug addict.

The use of Drug is rapidly growing in Pakistan, especially students in colleges and universities, which affect their social, cultural and health implications and also on there families and society.

Almost 5% (approx.five million) of mature population in the country is using drugs and its exercise is rising at an annual rate of 7%, while according to estimates, 1 out of every 10 college/university students in Pakistan is a drug addict.

Further, the make use of chewing tobacco (Gutkha, Betel nuts, Pan) is reaching at seriously prevalent levels. Students, professionals, old, all take it. A recent survey acknowledged the use of this awful habit by nearly 70% in several cities in Pakistan.

According to a National Assessment study on Drug Abuse in Pakistan, there are various people using heroin, taking drug through injection and nasals, Smokers and users of chewing tobacco has doubled since 2000 in Pakistan, which sound the alarm.
