Drug addiction is an escapable disease. Outcome from NIDA-funded research have shown that preclusion programs that involve the family, schools, communities, and the media are helpful in reducing drug abuse. Even though many procedures change drug abuse trends, when youths pick out drug abuse as injurious, they trim down their drug taking. It is essential, so, to help youth and the general public to be aware of the risks of drug abuse and for teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to keep distribution the message that drug habit can be banned if a person never abuses drugs.

What Parents Can perform

• Be alert of the information. Identify the pressure to your youngster.
• Distinguish what the tobacco manufacturing is doing to aim your kid. Point it out to him.
• Identify what programs are presented in your society to put off teen smoking and make out how you can contribute.
• Obtain a dynamic role in your youth’s life.
• Know wherever he is and what he is doing.
• Search out to know his links and their parents.
• Persuade your youngster to take part in school sports.
• Talk with your kid. Keep a frank and unwrap conversation. Seem for opportunities to unlock the topic for discussion with questions such as:
• "Why do you imagine I demand a seat in the 'No Smoking' segment?"
• "Why do you feel so many kids smoke knowing it is so risky?"
• "What do you suppose when you observe children smoking?"
• "What are a few reasons you might offer your own kid for not smoking?"

Discussion regarding drugs in advance of time will give your kid a chance to make the decisions in front of time. Then when he is presented cigarettes/ tobacco or any further drugs he/she will already have the counter.

DRUG ADDICTION AND ABUSE IN PAKISTAN.



Dear All,

The use of drug growing rapidly in Pakistan especially in students.
10% out of every 100% students is a drug addict.

The use of Drug is rapidly growing in Pakistan, especially students in colleges and universities, which affect their social, cultural and health implications and also on there families and society.

Almost 5% (approx.five million) of mature population in the country is using drugs and its exercise is rising at an annual rate of 7%, while according to estimates, 1 out of every 10 college/university students in Pakistan is a drug addict.

Further, the make use of chewing tobacco (Gutkha, Betel nuts, Pan) is reaching at seriously prevalent levels. Students, professionals, old, all take it. A recent survey acknowledged the use of this awful habit by nearly 70% in several cities in Pakistan.

According to a National Assessment study on Drug Abuse in Pakistan, there are various people using heroin, taking drug through injection and nasals, Smokers and users of chewing tobacco has doubled since 2000 in Pakistan, which sound the alarm.

TAKE 11 SIMPLE STEPS, YOU ARE NOT ALONE…


Step: 1
Firstly be positive and make possible to attend any meeting or seminar or join any community related to this, will help you understand that you are not alone and you are not a bad person.

Step: 2
Do not tell anyone especially the drug addict that you aim to leave. Be careful in all you’re planning for leaving it. Select a target date for leaving. You should permit yourself at least one - two week(s).

Step: 3
Arrange for a temporary place of safety. This may be your relatives’ home, a friend’s home, or apartment. Believe yourself that you are able to leave it in your target date. Keep it secret and if you are going to someone’s home be sure that you can trust that person to keep your intentions a secret.

Step: 4
Keep as much money as possible into your personal bank account and be sure that no one knows about your account. Select a bank which is far from your relatives and friends.

Step: 5
Bribe any sum unpaid, if possible. If it’s not possible, let know the lending society or defaulter that you need to make other preparations to pay that debt.

Step: 6
If there is any utilities related to you, cancel them. Make possible to pay utilities one or two days after your target date for getting away.

Step: 7
Before your TARGET DATE doesn’t give the profit to anyone of your policies, for example.(life or health insurance policies).

Step: 8
As your target date approach, utilize as little time as possible with the drug aficionado. During any time he spends away from the house, move your things, a few at a time, to your place of safety. Do this as prudently as possible.

Step: 9
Make possible that at least one person is with you on the target date. Move your things out or away from you as quickly as possible. Try to take this step when the drug addict is away from you and try best to ignore him.

Step: 10
Once all you own is out of the house and you lost your past then the drug addicts is standing in front of you crying or begging, tell him nothing is important then your life and now no one can change your mind. After this communication you feel better and your likeness increases.

Step: 11
After you lost your past and started your new life in which you feel better than your past, finally leave it and again close to relationship and also, if it’s possible, find your partner who helps you and always with you in your happiness and worries and always believe yourself that you are better than others.

Effects of Drugs on the Human Brain


The weight of the human brain is about three pounds. You may not realize it, but your brain is not the same every day. The brain is a constantly changing group of cells. As soon as you learn rather new or have a new skill, new synapses figure. Your brain still enables you to consider delight. Whenever you do something that you get pleasure from, the return way in your brain is activated.
The use of drugs increases the discharge of dopamine from the neurons. The augmented dopamine levels give drug abusers the charge that they enjoy for a little time, but drugs can source changes in the brain that final a very long time. The changes in the brain may be permanent.

The change that occurs when a drug abuser takes drugs is the growth of cravings. If a human being takes drugs and after sometime she/he stops taking them. They will have a strong wish to take more of the drug.

TYPES OF DRUGS:  

There are many types of drugs people using around the world insufficiently. Scheduled below are some of the most common types of drugs abused.


Cocaine:
Cocaine is one of the most unsafe types of drugs found in nature and mostly used in third world countries. Cocaine comes from Coca plant leaves. People living in the world especially in third world countries inhaled powder cocaine (HCL) through nasal holes and also dissolved it in water and injected into the body via syringe. This syringe method (using same syringes by two or more persons) also causes H.I.V.


Alcohol/Ethanol (C2H5OH):

Alcohol/ Ethanol (C2H5OH) is an organic compound consist of Oxygen, Carbon, Hydrogen , mostly used in drinking materials such as beer, wine, whiskey, gin, vodka, etc. It affects the human body as well as the brain of the human and sometimes in severe cases it causes mental disability.

 

Heroin:

Heroin, semi-synthetic opium, is resultant as of morphine. Heroin is inhaled, smoked, and injected throughout the abuser.
 

Narcotics:

However usually Narcotics used to refer to all drugs---narcotics are those drugs which are resultant from opium (derivatives). Normally encountered narcotics include: Opium, morphine, codeine, heroin, Demerol, methadone, e.t.c.

Opium:

Opium is produce from unripe seed pods of the Poppy plant. Opium can either be injected or smoked.
